Kim Cabness aka KC,  51 yrs young
Suwanee, Georgia
BGR! ATLANTA Ambassador

One of the best ways to feel young is to spend time with your childhood friends and family.   For me, that's MY sister!   We get together  and within minutes find ourselves in stitches laughing, singing and dancing.   We can't help but do a few old high school cheers, turn a couple of cartwheels, ride a niece's bike or show up for skate night.  My childhood exercise and eating habits were never conscious decisions as they tend to be now. My sister and I had daily well balanced meals provided to us by our parents,  participated in neighborhood outdoor games,  went to summer camp and did a lot of physical running from place to place.
Today, my cheerleading moves aren't so crisp and sharp, my jumps aren't very high and I dare not try to stand on top of a mount or someone's shoulders.  I have to intentionally get out and exercise, because I'm probably never going to think about running across a college campus or around an amusement park again.  It's just not going to happen, but there's BGR!
Black Girls Run! What a wonderful opportunity to get in some exercise and fellowship with other women that may find themselves doing a line dance with their sister, but may pass on dancing until 3am at a party.  I love the exposure and motivation BGR provides to me to not only run, but live a healthy lifestyle.
Over the past two years,  I've run over eighteen 5Ks, six 10Ks,  eight half marathons and one full marathon.  This accomplishment due to training and knowledge provided by BGR.  I'm surrounded by like minded ladies who insist on keeping themselves active and healthy.   Yoga,  kickboxing,  swimming and biking are just a few of the actives the ladies have encouraged me to do (again).
I'm an All Access member with Black Girls Run, receiving additional race and BGR apparel discounts, tips on eating,  music downloads and yes, these graffiti-splattered tights and vibrant speedwick top from Reebok. How thrilling is it to win a soft and stylish workout outfit?  The Reebok ZPrint Run shoes are like walking on clouds.   Couldn't wait to slip into these new digs to try them out. The sports bra provides maximum sport and keeps the moisture away from my skin. I just love the racer back style.
I may never ride another Big Wheel,  but my sister and I will always keep moving and laughing.
Staying healthy,  feeling young,  enjoying Life!
