A few months ago, when we started this series we were inspired by Shonda Rhimes' book, The Year of Yes. If you haven’t checked out the book, I won’t spoil it for you, but let’s just say its all about saying yes! Or more practically, its about saying yes to more things, more of the time. Now, at first glance that seems simple right, and truly it is. Until you take stock of how many times (and to how many things) you say no. Pause now to think about it. I bet you say no way more than you say yes. I’ll go even further and presume that you aren’t always saying no, as an act of self-care. Quite the contrary, I bet most times you are saying no out of fear, and loyalty to your routine.
Well ladies, today I want to challenge you to be bolder, more fearless, and more adventurous. The next time someone asks you to do something out of the ordinary, and you are even the least bit intrigued, say yes! Give yourself a chance to live the BIG LIFE you have always dreamed of. Fill your time with activities, books, people, and experiences that challenge you and help you grow, instead of things that keep you stuck and comfortable.
Say yes to a new run routine, a new cross training regimen, a new dietary choice, and maybe even a new fitness conference? Say yes to an alternative way of viewing things, to new perspectives, and new possibilities. Say yes….to MORE.
